Lagos, Portugal!

Welcome to Lagos, baby!
Gorgeous women, gorgeous beaches, and a lot of fun. Lagos was the last stop I made during my Trans-Iberian road-trip.
It is located in the southwestern corner of Portugal, and is a great place to visit for a couple of days. To this day, I don’t think I have seen a more beautiful beach. They are remarkably picturesque, and are filled with, well, let’s just say women that are not very conservative. You can check out some of the photos I took here.
What Should I Do in Lagos?
Eat, sleep, drink. Repeat. Lagos is a party town. It is just slightly calmer than Ios. The main town has lots of bars, which are usually run by Australians. Don’t worry, you wont miss them. A lot of the bars will higher attractive women to promote their place. Usually, it is worth it for the free drink.
Lodging
There are some great hostels, and they are all conveniently located. If you book well in advance, you might be able to get a room at the Rising Cock. This place is really famous, and they are always at full-capacity. Here is a brief description from Hostel World:
Rising Cock is a place where travelers, international students and holiday makers come to relax and party. We offer you a different atmosphere and layout; it’s like staying at a mate’s beach house, a place where you are always surrounded by friends and truly feel at home.
If they don’t have a room, they might let you sleep on the couch!
Don’t worry if you can’t find room at the Cock – there are plenty of other great places to stay!
Advice
You should not have any problems getting to and from Lagos – it is a popular tourist destination.
Two things to watch out for – the sun (I know, I sound like a parent)! If you are going to drink and hang out in the sun all day, make sure you have sunscreen and water.
Also, when dining out, make sure you don’t get charged for things you did not order. In Europe, NEVER eat something you did not order without asking if it is free first. A lot of people will get charged for eating or drinking things that were on the table, but not free. It is a little trick they like to use – don’t be a victim (not speaking from experience or anything…ahem…).
Happy Travels!
